Art 384

Project 4

The concept of this piece is meant to represent the pollution of our oceans. My goal was to bring awareness to the problem in hopes that others will do their part to keep our oceans clean. For the finished garment I incorporated actually trash and shells found on the beach along with other trash materials.

Project 3

Our designs are inspired by the cultures of the ancient Mesoamerican civilizations.  The patterns found on our fabrics are taken from different stone carving that depict animals and  various gods. Other design concepts are inspired by the ceremonial war costumes such as the animal skin suits and the elaborate war shields found in the Codex Mendoza, as well as our color scheme. Our goal is to draw attention to these ancient rich cultures and encourage others to learn more.

Great Gatsby Mood Board

My concepts are meant to represent the women's fashion seen in The Great Gatsby. These ideas show the glitz and glamour of the 20s with jewels, feather, pearls, and extensive bead work. This was and age of lavish parties due to prohibition, as well as a time of great change in women's fashion as they fought to gain equality with men.
